The plugin core and all add-ons are up to date. I checked the settings to see that the option to display them hadn’t been switched off as a result of the update. I also check that the shortcode was still in the results template. All seems fine yet the category icons are not displaying in the search results since the update.September 16, 2014 at 8:44 AM #24956
I am working on this issue with a Tagalong and/or SLP update. Something happened with the image HTML code processing. Not sure yet if it is a base plugin issue, a WordPress 4.0 issue (which buggered up an unrelated Debug My Plugin plugin I published for WordPress), or a Tagalong issue.
I hope to have it tracked down and appropriate patches (and some new features) out this week.September 16, 2014 at 5:44 PM #24973

Should have an update to Tagalong (prerelease first) soon. Was making good progress tonight, but my code repository service is offline (Bitbucket) and I need to get up early to take my son to school so I will need to resume coding tomorrow.
A new per-category “linking url” will be available as well as rendering map markers and icons directly on the category manager page itself.
I have a few tweaks to do with the “attach link URL to icon” before it is ready to go into testing. During that process I am reviewing the input from DeBaat (the UML and SME add-on pack author) to isolate the issue with various image-related HTML being mangled by either WP 4.0 or the latest SLP 4.2.0X releases.
Watch the blog post for prerelease details on Tagalong. I intend to make it generally available in prerelease form to anyone that has Tagalong not just Premier subscribers.
Thanks for your patience while I sort this out in between new coder training sessions.October 3, 2014 at 10:43 AM #25247
The latest SLP core update worked for me. Thank you.
