Store Locator Plus in the WordPress directory version notifications. WordCamp Philadelphia: Meet the SLP author and developer

Where to find other versions of base plug-in in the WP plugin directory for Maps by Store Locator Plus
Where to find other versions of base plug-in in the WP plugin directory for Maps by Store Locator Plus

It was recently brought to our attention that the WordPress Plugin Directory had an issue which marked the wrong version of the Maps by Store Locator Plus  as the current stable release.  As a result, the developer pushed through  4.3.23 as the current version to force the PlugIn directory to update. The  WordPress Core teams have been working on plugin directory hooks for the new translate system so it is always possible something was awry on their end.

Installing the older version of the base Plugin, along with a new add-on pack, could result in non-activation of the add-on or performance issues. If you are noticing peculiar behavior or non-functionality it is important to check the release notes and/or the change log at the bottom of applicable news feeds or on Store Locator Plus site. When requesting information or support by posting in the SLP forum or contacting support, it is requested that you provide the version(s) along with your Plugin Environment (see the SLP Info Tab ).

The developer will work with the plugin team at WordPress to alleviate future issues. In the mean time, if you see uncharacteristic behavior when using or installing the plug-in, go to the Plugin versions, select “Other Versions” and download the highest version number (4.3.23 is a newer version than 4.3.21, etc), select to do a manual install.

Store Locator Plus 4.3.09 Patches and Enhancement: Modal Pop-up Map rendering

Maroc.-_Trilobita_d'Erfud_fossil
Store Locator Plus version 4.3.09 was released to the public today for download. View the Change Log for all updates, patches, and added features. Video is available for viewing in the SLP Documentation page under Videos.

Changes in 4.3.09

  • The SLP “locations page not visible” that effected some users after updating. The jump to 4.3 from older version manifested itself with error messages such as “object not found” or referencing to an “unknown object or property”. This update will not effect other SLP installs that were not seeing these issues. The error often occurred when servers had been switched or an older version of SLP had not been updated regularly. The “jump” to the 4.3 version release caused major headaches for some of our customers in these instances.
  • Additionally a minor bug was fixed within the “Clean Simple white” SLP style (formerly called SLP theme, not to be confused with WordPress Themes).
  • Lastly, an enhancement to SLP allows for the SLPLUS shortcode to be added in a modal popup.
  • Note: We strongly urge you to update all plugins when they are available. If you do not automatically see an update available notification for the SLP plugins or add-on packs click on “check again” in your WordPress sidebar.

    Social Media Extender Auto-Update Fixed

    SME 4.2.04 Add Social Media

After a lot of back-and-forth trying to figure out why Social Media Extender updates were not being sent to users via the automated WordPress update system, we’ve got it figured out.   The Social Media Extender should start reporting the available 4.2.04 update from DeBaat which includes several tweaks and added features since the 4.2.02 release.     The updates should start appearing in the updates list for all WordPress website admins that have Social Media Extender installed.
