Store Locator Plus® Patches Search Form Name Label

Store Locator Plus® Release Notes
SaaS 2022.08.08 / WordPress 5.14

Store Locator Plus® has been updated for the early August 2022 release.   This impacts both the WordPress plugins and the SaaS product.     Users of the WordPress plugins will need to download and update to the latest releases.   SaaS users will see these updates automatically.

MySLP SaaS All Levels

A patch has been put into place on the JavaScript core method that reduces network I/O from REST API calls when rendering map labels.    The pre-patched version would consider various labels as not being set if a user was setting a label to an empty string.  This created a REST API call for every location that was being displayed to fetch new label information.  This patch reduces those calls to a single REST API request per page render versus per-location rendered.

MySLP SaaS Professional and Enterprise Updates

This release patches search form name labels and the name placeholder.   These settings were not being honored.  The functionality has been restored.

The map search form “Hide Address Entry” has been patched to hide ONLY the address input box, not the entire search form.

Version Info

The changes noted above can be found in the following update.

Store Locator Plus® (SaaS Edition) : 2022.08.08

Store Locator Plus® for WP : Experience: 5.14.X

Power v5.13 Addresses Location Categorization Issue

Version 5.13 of the Store Locator Plus® Power add on for WordPress plugins was released today.    The update is a minor one as we continue to clean up the WordPress plugin family.  Multiple updates are expected in the next few weeks in preparation for better SaaS integration , user experience improvements, and general feature improvements.

In Power v5.13

Add new location category was logging a warning about an undefined or null variable reference.   This has been resolved.

Power – On The Radar

For the WordPress plugins we are aware of an issue related to the SEO pages functionality and an array offset warning that comes up when creating an SEO page.   This is on the R&D schedule to be addressed in an upcoming release.   Current estimate is to have an update ready in less than 30 days.

Store Locator Plus® SaaS Impact

The issues resolved in Power 5.13 do not affect functionality or performance of the MySLP SaaS platform.   As such the updates included here will be published in combination with other updates in a future upgrade to the MySLP platform.

Map attributes have been extended in 4.9.7

map attributes - a global map with markers

Store Locator Plus 4.9.7 “map attributes” update was released today for our WordPress users. The update is still in testing for MySLP users — some of the patches in this release are a direct result of the testing before integrating into our managed service. The updated release will be on the MySLP platform soon but will have limited impact on those users.

More shortcode map attributes for WordPress users

The [slplus] processor in the core plugin has been updated to allow more map attributes to be set.  This update allows ALL options that have been migrated to the new Smart Options architecture (80% of all SLP settings at this point) to be used as an attribute. This greatly improves the ability to create custom maps on a per-page basis with settings that vary from the general “system wide” settings that come from the Store Locator Plus > Settings tab.

You can find the current list of supported attributes here:
